Ariel Ephriam Kollangi, LCPC
I was inspired to be a clinician early in life by my mother’s influence. She instilled in me a curiosity for human behavior and an interest in the work of improving interpersonal relationships. She modelled warmth, empathy, and unconditional positive regard as both a parent and a teacher. Additionally, the many educators and professionals providers I have met during my career continue to inspire me to grow and strengthen my skills as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
I specialize in Multisystemic Therapy (MST) which is an intensive family and community-based treatment program that addresses multiple aspects of significant disruptive behaviors in youths. MST uses a team-based approach to adhere to strict evidence-based practice and provides 24/7 counseling support to caregivers.
I am certified in MST and MATCH models of evidence-based cognitive behavioral treatment and have been conducting home-and-community based treatment since 2013. I graduated from the CACREP accredited University of Central Florida in 2011 with a Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. I have trained since 2009 to work with a wide variety of child, adolescent, and adult individuals, couples, families, and groups. I have worked with individuals suffering from a myriad of issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, loneliness, grief, impulsivity, homelessness, chemical dependency, self-esteem, major life changes, communication in spousal, parenting, and family relationships. I have also worked with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities as well as individuals experiencing problems related to major illnesses such as addiction, cancer, diabetes, asthma, and sexual difficulties.
The fundamental goals and philosophy of MST are to decrease problematic behaviors and other clinical problems, increase parental ability to address future difficulties associated with raising an adolescent, and to minimize the risk of out-of-home placement. MST recognizes that at-risk youths are strongly influenced by the systems around them-family, peer, school, neighborhood- and works to promote positive behavior changes within the juveniles’ natural environments.
