Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution and P&C Insurance Commit Matching Funds to Support My Miracle Birthday Program at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital

PORTLAND, ME — Birthday fundraisers are one of the biggest trends seen by non-profits everywhere, including The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (BBCH). In 2018, more than 75 people participated in the My Miracle Birthday program, asking their friends and family members to make a donation to the children’s hospital in lieu of birthday gifts. The program raised nearly $10,000 for BBCH with participants ranging from those celebrating their first birthday to those celebrating their golden years.

In 2019, Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution and P&C Insurance will match the first $12,000 in birthday donations to the children’s hospital through the My Miracle Birthday program.

“Every dollar makes a difference, and we are happy to partner with BBCH and others to assist in making these wishes come true,” said Bob Quentin, President and CEO of Saco & Biddeford Savings. “We hope our support encourages others to join in.”

The user-friendly My Miracle Birthday online platform allows participants to personalize their fundraising page with a photo and story, and share the link with family and friends via email or social media.

“The My Miracle Birthday program is a selfless way to help hospitalized kids celebrate milestones of their own,” said Kate Richardson, philanthropy manager for The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. “Every dollar that we raise, including the incredibly generous matching gift from Saco & Biddeford Savings and P&C Insurance, ensures that we have the resources that we need to help our young patients get back to being kids.”
