MMC Once Again Recognized For Tobacco-Free Efforts
October 03, 2018
Maine Medical Center has been recognized at the Platinum Level for the 2018 Tobacco-Free Hospital Gold Star Standards of Excellence Program. The Gold Star Standards of Excellence provides an annual opportunity to recognize Maine's hospitals for the work they have done to create tobacco-free environments and support healthy lifestyles. Hospitals are recognized at the bronze, silver, gold or platinum level based on how many of the 10-plus best practice Gold Star Standards are met. MMC met all of the standards this year.
Additionally, Donna Chamoff, APRN-APMHNP, has been selected as a 2018 recipient of the Tobacco-Free Hospital Individual Gold Star Champion. Gold Star Champions are recognized for their ongoing efforts to address tobacco at their organization and in their community.
