March 07, 2018

NORTH CONWAY, NH –   Ready to put winter behind you and start planning for a great round of golf on a hot sunny day? Then sign up today for the Memorial Hospital Open Golf Tournament, which will take place on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Wentworth Golf Course in Jackson, NH.  Proceeds from this year’s golf tournament will go towards Memorial Hospital’s Community Health for Life Initiative. This fund supports community health efforts for all ages from children to elders, including our school-based wellness initiatives, healthy aging programs such as falls prevention and advanced care planning, plus social and emotional wellness services. All monies entrusted in this fund will only be utilized for programs in the Mount Washington Valley.

Last year, the event grossed over $50,000. The event has raised almost $900,000 over its long history, purchasing many pieces of life saving equipment and supporting community health programs.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses and individuals. Many sponsorship packages also include golf teams for the event. For those wishing to play in the tournament, golfers may join the event as individuals or in teams of four.

The tournament offers one exclusive afternoon flight with play limited to 128 players. Sponsors and golfers are encouraged to sign up early as the tournament is usually a sellout.

This year’s Golf Tournament Committee members include: co-chairs Mary Vigeant and Bayard Kennett; Kathy Bennett, Gail Paine, Melody Nester, Rachel Damon, Peter Waugh, Corinne Ray, Kathy Sanderson, Rachael Brown, Ed Harrigan and Tony Gallardo.

The Memorial Hospital Open Golf Tournament was founded in 1980 by former US Congressman Bill Zeliff and Jackson businessman Lee Harmon.  The long-running tournament takes place at the Wentworth Golf Club, a beautiful 18-hole course in the heart of quaint Jackson Village. This picturesque course provides outstanding views of the majestic Presidential Range and the scenic splendor of the Wildcat and Ellis Rivers as they meander throughout the course. The tournament is known for its famous Grazing on the Green food extravaganza the evening of the event. Grazing on the Green features an extravagant open air dining experience with food prepared by some of Jackson’s finest chefs.
