Memorial Hospital Sponsors Carroll County RSVP

October 05, 2017

NORTH CONWAY, NH – Memorial Hospital staff recently met with Carroll County Retired Senior and Volunteer Program board members and volunteers to renew its sponsorship support of RSVP’s program that provides volunteer drivers for Medical Transportation and Carroll County Meals on Wheels programs. These driving services are provided to citizens in Carroll County, especially the elderly and individuals living with disabilities and veterans that do not have regular access to transportation.

RSVP offers adults age-55 plus an opportunity to share their time and talents on a regular basis through a variety of volunteer opportunities available through their communities; some RSVP volunteers serve as drivers for the Medical Transportation and Carroll County Meals on Wheels programs.

“We are happy to be a sponsor of RSVP drivers of these programs,” said Abigail Kelly, patient navigator at Memorial Hospital. “Many of our patients benefit immensely,” she said and explained: “It’s important that patients are able to get to their medical appointments. Many cancer patients especially struggle to find someone to be able to give them repeated rides to and from chemo treatments, and appreciate the access to transportation and the kindness of the drivers.”

For more information on how to access medical transportation services, to become a volunteer driver or make a donation, call RSVP at 603-356-9331.
