Merriman House Presents LNA of the Year Awards

July 28, 2017

NORTH CONWAY, NH – Memorial Hospital recently honored Cindy Vachon of Tamworth and Kerry Guptill of Glen with 2017 Merriman House LNA of the Year awards at a garden ceremony at the 45-bed nursing home.

Merriman House LNA awards are presented annually to licensed nursing assistants employed at Merriman House who are nominated and selected by their peers for their delivery of reliable, compassionate and quality care on a continuous basis.

One LNA that works with Cindy Vachon said that she "treats residents as if they were her own family." Others commented, "She has been here 22 years and still comes to work happy every day. She is so helpful to everyone. I think of her as a second mom."

Peers also spoke highly about Kerry Guptill, "She takes pride in the care she delivers to each and every resident. She goes above and beyond to make sure residents feel as if they are home."

"Both Kerry and Cindy are excellent examples for all LNAs of what nursing care is about," said Katie Graziano, Director of Nursing at Merriman House. "Caring for others in a professional and personal manner that maintains the residents’ dignity and respect is paramount."

Since 1978, Merriman House has been offering a home-like atmosphere focused on compassionate and personalized care that promotes each resident's quality of life.

Being in a hospital-based facility has the advantage of many conveniently located medical services including full diagnostic services, a pharmacy, emergency services, and coordinated social services. Each resident's medical care is under the direction of a member of the medical staff at The Memorial Hospital.
