Home Health Care in the Community
As part of the mission of MaineHealth Care at Home, community health nurses offer low-cost flu prevention, health screening clinics, diabetes education and other wellness services at locations throughout the community. Community health nurses can provide both education and preventive care to improve community health and ultimately limit the need for emergency care or hospitalization, lowering costs and keeping our community members safe and health.
The flu is a contagious disease that spreads throughout Maine every winter, usually between October and May. It is spread mainly by coughing, sneezing and close contact. Flu vaccinations are the best protection against the flu, and MaineHealth recommends that folks get their vaccination each year.
MaineHealth Care at Home provides vaccinations through public clinics throughout the service area. This year, we are offering drive-thru clinics every Wednesday, from 3PM to 6PM at our Saco location—15 Industrial Park Rd. We ask that you bring your insurance card with you to the clinic.
If able, please fill out the Flu Clinic – Patient Registration form and have it ready when you arrive. Otherwise, a registration form will need to be filled out when you get here.
Employers can arrange for private clinics at worksites.
