Back Surgery - Victor's Story

Victor, an outdoor sportsman of Southwest Harbor, was having a difficult time walking and standing up straight due to severe back pain. His love of fishing took a back seat when he could no longer get on and off his boat. With a diagnosis of severe spinal stenosis, he had to make a decision about whether to seek treatment and if so, which treatment. Maine Medical Center’s care team, including a patient navigator, guided Victor through his decision-making process, and he chose surgical treatment. Soon Victor was back on the boat and enjoying the great outdoors again.
