Hospital and Intensive Treatment
Spring Harbor Hospital and Partners
Maine Behavioral Healthcare offers inpatient care at Spring Harbor Hospital, Southern Maine Health Care and Pen Bay Medical Center for children, adolescents and adults suffering with acute mental health conditions including schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, and co-occurring (mental health and substance use) disorders.
We are clinically integrated with partial hospital, intensive outpatient, and community treatment centers to ensure easy and timely access and safe and effective transitions between services. We provide 24-hour information and referral, voluntary and involuntary hospitalization and discharge planning.
What is Intensive Outpatient (IOP)?
Our Intensive Outpatient program is designed for people in recovery who need concentrated therapy, often 10-12 hours a week, while accommodating work and family schedules. IOP is sometimes a transitional treatment for individuals experiencing disorders such as depression, self-harm or co-occurring (mental health and addiction) disorders after leaving Spring Harbor Hospital.
