Parents & Caregivers
As a parent/caregiver, what you do makes a difference in your family! Research shows that kids model their parents’/caregivers’ behaviors and attitudes. Kids learn to enjoy healthy foods and be physically active by watching those around them, and even small changes can make a big difference. We’ve developed a variety of resources to help your family live 5-2-1-0 every day! And for families of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we have tailored tools specific to the challenges these children and their families face.
Let's Go! partners with pediatricians and family physicians, early care and education programs, out-of-school programs, schools, and school nutrition programs to make the healthy choice the easy choice. A great example of how Let’s Go! is creating healthier environments is the Smarter Lunchroom Movement taking place in more than 390 school cafeterias. Get the facts and give school lunch a try!
While a lot of our work is focused on creating healthier early care and education programs, schools, school nutrition programs, and out-of-school programs we also partner with health care providers and parents. Health Care Providers support families by reinforcing the importance of making healthy choices and parents put advice into action to shape their child’s healthy behaviors.
