Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation Awards Grants
The Board of the Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation recently announced the award of two grants in the Oxford Hills region. These grants will support the community in attaining more healthy lifestyles for the population and also serves as part of Western Maine Health’s community outreach in addressing healthy eating and obesity initiatives.
The Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation awarded $2,250 to the 2015 Edible Main Street Program. An Edible Main Street along downtown Norway will complement the community’s efforts to improve eating habits and increase accessibility to local, nutritious food. The program is modeled after the Incredible Edible in Todmorden, England. The second grant was awarded to MSAD 17 Oxford Hills Middle School for their 2015 Pay It Forward 5K Race.
Eligibility requirements for grants from the Stephens Community Health Care Foundation are tied to sustainable healthcare initiatives. The Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation is currently accepting grant applications through December 31, 2014.
