Maine Artist, David Stengelsen
Exhibits at Stephens Memorial Hospital
Stephens Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce a return engagement for Maine professional artist, David Stengelsen. David Stengelsen returns to SMH for this Summer Exhibit of recent paintings.
This exhibit of Mr. Stengelsen’s paintings will include a portrait, some large florals and three architectural pictures. Two of those are cityscapes of New York City and the third is an afternoon view of Lewiston Maine.
All of his paintings are oil on canvas. Among his influences he lists the German expressionist painter Ernst Kirshner, Austrian Oscar Kokoshka, and American painters, Neil Wellever, Alex Katz, Fairfield Porter and Philip Guston.
David Stengelsen shares, “My art making is guided by a few basics which I hope are evident in all my work. They are good draftsmanship, strong color and a (hopefully) interesting variety of subject matter.”
