SMH Adds State-of-the-Art Philips Radiology/Fluoroscopy Diagnostic Imaging System

Timothy A. Churchill, President and Chief Executive Officer of Western Maine Health is pleased to announce the installation of a X-ray system at Stephens Memorial Hospital.   The EasyDianost Eleva covers a broad range of applications including gastro-intestinal, vascular and interventional procedures in pediatric and general imaging as well as in women’s healthcare.

The system has the reputation in the medical industry as being easy to operate, fast and reliable to use and physically and structurally appropriate to manage all types of patients with the highest quality diagnostic images possible.

The system allows physicians and technologists to customize preset preferences for new patients, different exam types and other functions.  This ability to customize protocols and techniques will help SMH to enhance the quality of patient care.

This DoseWise imaging technology, allows physicians to obtain the highest quality radiographic images at the lowest dose possible of radiation.  For Fluoroscopy exams, this system has been shown to reduce patient dose up to 80%.

“It’s reassuring for our patients to know that we use the most patient-friendly X-ray technology possible,” said Tim Ingram, Director of Clinical Diagnostics at SMH.  “With the new Philips system, we’re proud to assure our patients and staff that exposure to radiation will be limited with no loss in clinical performance.”
