SMH Thrift Shop $25,000 Annual Fund Donation

Timothy A. Churchill, President and Chief Executive Officer of Western Maine Health announced at the annual fall SMH volunteer luncheon on Wednesday, October 10 that the SMH Thrift Shop has recently made a donation of $25,000 to the Stephens Memorial Hospital’s 2012 Annual Fund.  The SMH 2012 Annual Fund will help fund the purchase of a new ultrasound imaging system.

The Thrift Shop has consistently been the largest donor to the Annual Fund, making a donation that is based on Thrift Shop sales.  The Thrift Shop is an asset to our community and provides quality clothing at an affordable cost.  We are currently looking for donations of gently used clothing that can be dropped off at the Thrift Shop during our regular business hours.

The SMH Thrift Shop is located on 10 Danforth Street in Norway and is operated by approximately 30 volunteers (pictured above at the Annual Fall SMH Volunteer Luncheon).  The Thrift Shop hours of operation are Thursdays and Fridays 10:30 – 3:30 pm and Saturdays 10:30 – 1:00 pm.  We are currently looking to increase our volunteers.  If you are interested in volunteering at the Thrift Shop please contact Sharon Nightingale, Volunteer Coordinator at (207) 744-6071.
