SMH Alison Newton Accepts Emergency Services Nurse Director Position

NORWAY, ME - Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, is pleased to announce that Alison Newton, RN has accepted the combined position of Nurse Director of Emergency Services and The Family Birthplace at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Alison has been the Nurse Director of The Family Birthplace since January 2003 and has, with full staff participation and support, developed a strong, positive and professional nursing department. Her management experience and leadership skills will continue with The Family Birthplace and now officially with the Emergency Department nursing staff.  Alison has been serving as the Emergency Department's Interim Nurse Director for the past five months. 

Of her new position Alison shares, ""Accepting my new role as the Emergency Services Nurse Director is a great opportunity. I have been privileged to work with a team who is highly skilled and work effortless to provide all of our patients with exceptional care here at Stephens Memorial Hospital."

Alison lives in Turner with her husband Jeffrey.  They have two children Jeffrey a fourth year pharmacy student who is currently attending Husson University and Adrianna, a senior at Leavitt High School who plans on pursuing her doctorate in physical therapy.
