Barbara Allen, Vice President of Development and Community Relations is pleased to announce that Jordan Beall has been hired as Health Education Coordinator for the MaineHealth Learning Resource Center (LRC) at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
Jordan is a 2009 graduate of Emory University in Atlanta with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Global Health. For the past year she has been working with Americorps at a health center in Colorado. Much of the position she had entailed patient education, assistance, and coordinating healthy living programs and classes. This experience will be valuable in her new position with the LRC.
Of her return to Maine and the new position Jordan shares, "I really enjoyed the health education teaching portion of my work with AmeriCorps and felt that the outreach really made a difference. I'm excited to join the MaineHealth LRC and SMH and work on making a difference in the health of communities in my home state."
Deborah Clark, Health Sciences Librarian at SMH who also serves as the LRC Director at Stephens Memorial Hospital, says "I'm very excited to have Jordan join the LRC team. Her experience as a AmeriCorps Member will enable us to address community health education needs through the design and implementation of health and wellness programs for the western Maine community."
Jordan, a native of the Turner/Leeds area resides in Lewiston.
