August Safe Sitters Succeed
Stephens Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Safe Sitter® class on August 19th with the following participants: Megan, Catherine, Kiyah, Emma, Abbey, Tarin, and Star.
Safe Sitter® (www.safesitter.org) is a medically accurate program that teaches 11 to 13 year-olds how to be safe, nurturing babysitters. The goal of the Safe Sitter® program is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by babysitters. The class teaches infant and child CPR, safety for the sitter, business practices and how to entertain children, among other things.
Please call The Family Birthplace for information on future class dates, at 207-743-1562 x 380 to sign up for classes and further information. The fee is $50 for the 2 day class; scholarships are available if needed.
