SMH Hires New Therapist

Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, and Lissa Merrill, MSPT, Director of Physical Rehabilitation at Stephens Memorial Hospital announced today that Martine Daigle, DPT, has joined the Physical Rehabilitation Department at the hospital.


Martine, a Madawaska native, has a Bachelor of Science in Kineseology as well as her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Husson College. Martine is well-versed in many aspects of physical therapy; during her time at Husson she participated in internships in inpatient, outpatient and skilled care settings. 


Martine shares that she is happy to be working in the Norway area, "With the mountains, outdoor activities, and small town feel, Norway is very similar to where I grew up.  I knew I wanted to be somewhere like this when I started working.  When I interviewed with Lissa, the staff were so knowledgeable, welcoming, I knew this was going to be the best place to work."


About Martine's arrival, Lissa shares, "The department is thrilled to have Martine.  She comes with fresh ideas and skills.  The patients are really going to enjoy working with her!" 


Martine's special interests include orthopaedics, geriatrics, and athletes.  She is currently living in Durham.
