April Safe Sitter Grads

April Safe Sitter® Class at SMH a Success

 

Stephens Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Safe Sitter® class on April 22nd with participants, Leanne Leonard, Alexis Bennett, Abby Shields, Kaitlyn Brown, Airikah Simons, Jordon Labbe, Amelia Hodgkin, Katrina Hodgkin, Adrianna Martin, and Paige Morrison. Whitney, a 2006 graduate of SafeSitter was on hand volunteering to help the instructors out with teaching.

 

Safe Sitter® (www.safesitter.org) is a medically accurate program that teaches 11 to 15 year-olds how to be safe, nurturing babysitters.  The goal of the Safe Sitter® program is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by babysitters.  The class teaches infant and child CPR, safety for the sitter, business practices and how to entertain children, among other things.
