February Safe Sitter Grads

NORWAY, ME -  Stephens Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Safe Sitter® class on February 18th with participants, Veronica Carey, Arianna Meserve, Hope Proctor, Samantha Bickford, Bailey Nassa, Kyleigh Roberts,  Dehlia Shaw, Brooklyn Smith, Taylor Cantone.  Jordan McFarland a graduate of SafeSitter was on hand volunteering to help the instructors out with teaching.


Safe Sitter® ( is a medically accurate program that teaches 11 to 15 year-olds how to be safe, nurturing babysitters.  The goal of the Safe Sitter® program is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by babysitters.  The class teaches infant and child CPR, safety for the sitter, business practices and how to entertain children, among other things.


Please call The Family Birthplace for information on future 2010 class dates, at 207-743-1562 x 380 to sign up for classes and further information.  The fee is $50 for the 2 day class; scholarships are available if needed.
