SMH Promotes Merrill to PT Director

Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, announced recently that Lissa Merrill, MSPT, has accepted the position of Director of Physical Rehabilitation at Stephens Memorial Hospital.


Lissa Merrill, MSPT, Director of Physical RehabilitationLissa grew up in the Oxford Hills and graduated from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School before going to Springfield College where she earned both her bachelor of science and master of science in Physical Therapy.  After working out of state for several years, Lissa moved back to Maine, and for the past 10 years has been a staff physical therapist and a relief director of the Stephens Memorial Hospital Physical Therapy Department.  As well as her clinical strengths, Lissa brings a desire to reinforce working relationships with physicians, staff, and the Oxford Hills community.  Of her promotion, Lissa shares, "I have enjoyed being a therapist in our department, we have a very skilled staff.  Now, I look forward to my new role as manager."


Cook says, "Lissa is an exceptional communicator and is always focused on excellent patient care. She will be involving staff in efforts to consistently improve the rehabilitation services provided to members of our community. We welcome her enthusiasm and her skills."


Lissa lives in West Paris with her husband Andrew, and sons Lincoln and Brooks.
