Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, announced recently that Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH) Registered Nurses Karen Beaulieu, RN, BSN and Jean Jones, RN, BSN recently passed the very rigorous Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC).
This is a 2 day intensive program, is designed to provide specialty trauma knowledge as well as psychomotor skills associated with the delivery of professional nursing care to the pediatric trauma patient. The Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course was developed by the National Emergency Nurses Association.
Both Beaulieu and Jones are Registered Nurses employed in Emergency Services at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
Nurse Director of Emergency Services, Darlene Glover, RN, emphatically states, "I am very proud of Karen and Jean, their hard work and preparation for this course shows their commitment to nursing and the children of our community."
Beaulieu received her bachelor of nursing degree at University of Southern Maine and has worked at SMH since May of 2008. Jones graduated from the University of Delaware with her bachelor of nursing degree and has been employed with SMH since 1995.
