Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, announced recently that Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH) Registered Nurses Renee Roberts, RN and Jean Jones, RN, BSN recently passed the very rigorous Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC).
This is a 2 day intensive program, developed by the National Emergency Nurses Association that teaches an organized and thorough assessment of trauma patients with immediate life saving interventions. Both Roberts and Jones are Registered Nurses employed in Emergency Services at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
Of this, Nurse Director of Emergency Services, Darlene Glover, RN, states, "I am very proud of Renee and Jean, a lot of hard work and commitment went into the preparation for this course. I congratulate both on their achievement."
Roberts received her nursing degree at Kennebec Valley Community College and has worked at SMH since May of 2008. Jones graduated from the University of Delaware and has been employed with SMH since 1995.
