July Safe Sitter® Class at SMH a Success

Stephens Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Safe Sitter® class on July 13th with participants, Mackenzie Vehue, Anna Tyrina, Brianna Santos, Ashley Gilbert, Vanessa Godwin, Krystal Nelson, Elise Dekutoski, Will Kyle, Amanda Martin, Hailee Cote.

Safe Sitter® ( is a medically accurate program that teaches 11 to 15 year-olds how to be safe, nurturing babysitters.  The goal of the Safe Sitter® program is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by babysitters.  The class teaches infant and child CPR, safety for the sitter, business practices and how to entertain children, among other things.

Please call The Family Birthplace for information on future class dates, at 207-743-1562 x380 to sign up for classes and further information.  The fee is $50 for the 2 day class.
