Market Square Honored

Philip DuBois, Administrator of Market Square Health Care Center announced that Market Square was recently honored by Beacon Hospice for the End-of-Life Care they provide for patients. On June 12, 2009 the staff of Market Square attended the award ceremony recognizing their professional contributions to care for the terminally ill.

Market Square was nominated for the award because of their demonstrated ability and performance in:

   Professional team work with a hospice provider
   Effective continuing education
   Compassionate assessment of patients
   Promoting access to the hospice benefit

The award was received by DuBois and other Market Square managers who thanked Beacon for the honor and stated that individuals who come to Market Square from Beacon become part of the family and offer wonderful care in addition to those staff at Market Square.

Beacon hospice is the largest provider of Hospice Services in New England with nearly 1,300 patients and a staff of 600 hundred in 21 community based offices. Beacon is committed to recognizing and promoting the highest level quality in end of life care.  Individuals from Beacon attending the award ceremony were Paulette Crabtree, Jeff Treadwell, Erik Jensen, Aimee Brown,RN,  Carol Gallagher, RN, Elizabeth Herrick, Amy Burnard, LSW, and hospice volunteers Patty Rice, Emilia Fogg, Evelyn Marshall, BJ Woodworth, and Mary Llewellyn.
