Stephens Memorial Hospital Reminds Everyone that MAY is Osteoporosis Month!

The Women's Imaging Center  at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway would like to remind everyone that May is Osteoporosis month!  Individuals both male and female should call their physician for a referral for a bone density exam.

Osteoporosis is a silent disease causing bones to thin, weaken, and fracture.

The Women's Imaging Center at Stephens Memorial Hospital is pleased to have two certified technologists on staff.  These technologists providing bone density testing for individuals allowing early bone loss to be detected and for treatment to take place.  We can then monitor the effectiveness of these measures with future scans.

Testing is quick, painless and available two days a week at the hospital on the Dexiscan. Scheduling is available early in the day or in the early evening for your convenience.

The Dexiscan measures hip and spine bones for changes in density or architecture and is reported back to your physician.

The Women's Imaging Center includes Mammography, Ultrasound, and Bone Density and performs close to 5,000 exams a year.
