Market Square Employees Complete Certification

Philip DuBois, Administrator of Market Square Health Care Center recently announced that Melanie Corbett and Tovah Callina have completed a 3-day course and become certified as assessment coordinators by the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators (AANAC).

This training was very intensive and culminated with a series of exams for certification.  It trains individuals to complete a Minimum Data Set on all residents upon admission, then quarterly and annually after that.  These complex assessments are assessed by state and federal regulations and are part of what drives quality scores for long term care centers as well as payments.

Of these assessments Tovah shares, "It is a very complex assessment, accuracy is essential.  We were extensively trained on how to investigate and improve our answers on the assessments to help the organization and in the end the patient."

DuBois states, "Melanie and Tovah are both highly skilled and devoted nurses.  This training and certification validate their knowledge of the nursing home assessment and documentation requirements.  We're fortunate to have nurses of their caliber on the Market Square team!"

Melanie Corbett, RN-C is the Director of Nursing at Market Square, she began her employment with Market Square nearly 16 years ago as a CNA.  Tovah Callina, RN-C is the Clinical Documentation Supervisor has been employed with Market Square for 7 ½ years and began as an LPN before earning her RN.
