New Bus for MSHCC

Philip C. Dubois, Administrator of Market Square Health Care Center (MSHCC) announced recently that the facility had christened their new bus on Thursday, September 11th with a trip to the Oxford County Fair.  In the future, the bus will be used in transporting patients to medical appointments as well as to group recreational outings.
The bus, a 2008 Ford is a replacement for the old bus, in which the wheelchair lift did not work.

This bus seats 14 passengers, with up to four being in wheelchairs.  Several of the seats lift up to allow for flexibility with seating.  There are also tinted windows to prevent the bus from getting too warm, or seats from getting too hot in the sun, also helping with the energy efficiency.  The bus is complete with backup camera for safety, as well as a wheelchair lift that accommodates even the widest chairs.

The arrival of the new bus coincides with Assisted Living Week, during which residents enjoyed various activities including ice cream, a pizza lunch, the outing to the Fair, a bake sale, and a special turkey dinner which, was cooked for residents by managers.
