SMH Appoints Foster Director of Housekeeping and Sterile Supply

Western Maine Health Senior Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, in cooperation with Roberta Metivier, Vice President of Human Resources, announced recently that Scott Foster has been promoted to Director of Housekeeping and Central Sterile Supply at Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH).

For the last five years, Scott has been the Coordinator of Central Sterile Supply.  In this role, he reconfigured the area, making it more user friendly, added new sterilizers and other equipment, and updated and expanded systems for tracking sterility and quality.  He is a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician.

In his new role, Scott will oversee both the Housekeeping Department and Central Sterile Supply.  Scott can often been seen cleaning rooms, changing vents, and working side-by-side with his staff in both departments.  His positive, "can do" attitude is contagious.  His goals include supporting staff in their efforts to make SMH shine and to exceed performance improvement targets.

Scott lives in Auburn with his wife and two sons.
