PACE Implements GPS System

Western Maine Health President and CEO Timothy A. Churchill is pleased to announce the that the five ambulances of the PACE Paramedic Service fleet  have been outfitted with Garmin GPS Mapping units.

The units will decrease response time and are more accurate than the map books currently in use for obtaining directions.  They are easy to use, fast, and accurate.  Any address can be put into the system to and voice commands will be issued from the PACE garage to the destination.  Every hospital in the country is included in the mapping software, which helps with routine transfers as well.

PACE Ambulance Service currently includes 5 ambulances that serve the Oxford County region that respond to over 3,000 calls annually.  There are a minimum of 2 paramedics and 2 emergency medical technicians on duty every shift 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
