SMH Garden Volunteers at Work - More Needed

Volunteers spent the morning on Thursday, May 22, at Stephens Memorial Hospital working on the signature courtyard garden.  Lead by Winnie Clark, a long time volunteer in the garden, known to many as 'the flower lady', the group composed of Marina Sessions, Carol Trebilcock, and Marguerite Johnson planted flowers and prepped the garden for patients to enjoy.  Bunny Pratt has also done work in the garden this spring as well but was unable to attend on the 22nd.

Several more volunteers are needed to adopt the garden in the courtyard and care for it during the spring, summer, and fall months.  Tasks will include maintaining garden beds - weeding, pruning, and planting.

This opportunity requires self-directed individuals with a love for the outdoors, the physical ability to garden, gardening experience, and ability to take direction.

For more information on this or other volunteer opportunities please contact Barbara Allen, Director of Development and Community Relations at (207) 743-1562 x777.
