Dr. Walter Novey Joins SMH Emergency Department

Timothy A. Churchill, President and Chief Executive Officer of Western Maine Health is pleased to announce the recent addition of  Dr. Walter L. Novey to the Emergency Department at Stephens Memorial Hospital. 

Dr. Novey was most recently an Attending Physician at Mercy Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine.  He received his medical degree from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and completed his internship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and his residency, in Primary Care Internal Medicine at Yale University. 

Dr. Novey is Board Certified by the American Association of Physician Specialists in Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine.  He is currently certified to teach Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training and Advanced Trauma Life Support  (ATLS).  Dr. Novey also holds certifications in pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO).

Dr. Novey lists his objectives as practicing high quality clinical care as well as teaching and research. 

In his spare time Dr. Novey is a member of the Androscoggin Chorus, and enjoys spending his time in the outdoors, skiing, hiking, and sailing.
