SMH Holds Insulin Pump & Continuous Glucose Monitoring Session for Diabetes

NORWAY, ME - The Diabetes Support Group at Stephens Memorial Hospital will be holding an information session on Insulin Pump and Continuous Glucose Monitoring on Tuesday, June 26th from 6 - 7 pm in the Harper Conference Center.

Insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring with the MiniMed Paradigm ® REAL-Time system will be presented as proven and effective ways to reduce dangerous lows and stabilize glucose levels.  This program will provide a basic overview of the systems, how they will help, and also touch on information regarding insurance coverage for the insulin pump therapy.

Staffed by two Certified Diabetes Educators, the Diabetes Education Program at Stephens Memorial Hospital offers valuable insight into the prevention and self-management of this chronic disease.  Classes are held on a regular basis in either a one-day or multi-class format.  The program is a certified Ambulatory Diabetes Education and Follow-Up Program site through
the Maine Diabetes Prevention and Control Program and also holds prestigious Education Program Recognition status through the American Diabetes Association.
