McLaughlin appointed becomes Fellow in HFMA

NORWAY, ME - Western Maine Health President and CEO, Timothy Churchill announced recently that Stephens Memorial Hospital employee Diana McLaughlin was recently named a Fellow in the Healthcare Foundation Management Association (HFMA).  Although there are 31,000 members in HFMA, this appointment makes her one of less than 1,700 Fellows.

McLaughlin has been a member of the Western Maine Health family since 1993, working as the Controller in Accounting, focusing on finance, budgets, reimbursement, and accounting.  She has been a member of the HFMA since 1992, serving as the Maine chapter president in 2001-2002, and receiving the Member of the Year award for the Maine Chapter in 2002.  In 2006, she was appointed a regional executive.  Nationally, McLaughlin served on the National PFS Forum Advisory Council thru 2006.

The HFMA is a membership organization comprised of members of healthcare financial executives and leaders, with a focus on meeting the challenges in a healthcare environment. Candidates for Fellowship must meet stringent requirements in areas of academic achievement, professional experience and dedication to servicing the healthcare finance industry through volunteer work as well.  They also must demonstrate their commitment to ongoing professional development in order to maintain the designation.

McLaughlin also volunteers for Kiwanis.  She lives in South Paris with her husband and 2 sons.
