SMH Physician Earns
- Fernando Navarro, M.D. of Western Maine Surgery and
Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH) has received his Board
Certification in General Surgery. Physicians are able to
practice without a board certification; however, it is a
nationally recognized standard of achievement that most
physicians work to acquire.
Navarro attended Medical School at Escuela Comobiana de
South America finishing in 1996. From 1999
- 2001 he was a Research Fellow at Brigham
& Women's Hospital, he then completed his internship in
General Surgery at Boston University Medical Center. His residency in General Surgery
was at Maine Medical Center fro
2002 - 2006.
Dr. Navarro joined Dr. Robert K. Story, Jr. and
Dr. Ratnakar Andalkar to form Western Maine Surgery in 2006, Dr. Navarro
resides in Norway with his wife
and their son.
