Hodson Passes Certified Emergency Nurse Exam

NORWAY, ME - Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, announced recently that Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH) Registered Nurse Kevin Hodson has passed his Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN ®) exam.

Hodson has been a nurse since 1994 and part of the Emergency Department team at Stephens Memorial Hospital for ten years. In addition to completing the CEN exam, Kevin has also achieved a Nursing Advancement Level III status at SMH. This recognizes his excellence in nursing and level of clinical skills.  This recognizes consistently high standards of caring, clinical expertise, professional behavior, leadership, communication skills and exceptional attention to patient safety.

Of Hodson, Cook states, "Kevin strives to continuously improve his patient care, and his recent achievements demonstrate this.  We are proud of his accomplishments!"

The CEN ® Exam is a national test that is specific to the specialty of emergency nursing.  Certification reflects the attainment of this specialized body of knowledge and clinical competence.
