Nutrition Open House at Health Information Library

The Health Information Library at Stephens Memorial Hospital will be hosting a Nutrition open house on November 30, 2006 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon.  The open house will be in the Health Information Library in the Ripley Medical Building.   Registered Dietician Pat Watson will be on hand to answer general nutrition questions.  Healthy snacks will also be provided.

This open house will give attendees a chance to ask questions of  the dietician and find out more general information about cholesterol, carbohydrates, triglycerides, vegetarian diets and more.  Take some time during the holiday season to learn about the difference between soluble and insoluble fibers, learn about trans fats and how to look for it in foods.  Watson will also address questions regarding eating disorders, the new food pyramid and how to get more calcium into your diet.

Come to the open house and ask the questions you have been wondering about.  It has been said you are what you eat, come find out how you can eat healthier and improve your quality of life!

The Health Information Library is open to the public Monday-Thursday, from 10 AM- 4 PM and is staffed by a professional librarian to provide patients, students, and the public with the quality health information they need to make good health decisions.  Contact Deborah Clark at 743-1562 x323 or for more details.
