David Stengelsen Exhibits at Stephens Memorial Hospital

Stephens Volunteer Services at Stephens Memorial Hospital announced recently that Norway artist, David Stengelsen will be exhibiting at the hospital for 6 weeks.  Subjects in the show include landscapes, portraits, and florals, all in lush, elegant colors on large canvases. 

Stengelsen has lived in the Norway area for 18 years, after being raised in Minnesota, and living in Long Beach, California most of his adult life.  Stengelsen has pursued his passion for painting for over forty years, first while he worked as an art framer and now in his retirement devotes more time to the creative process.  On occasion he has painted commissioned portraits.

Stengelsen paints in oil on large canvases, among his influences he lists German expressionist painters Ernst Kirshner and Oscar Kokoshka as well as American painters Milton Avery, Alex Katz, Fairfield Porter, and Philip Guston.
