Hand Appointed new Director of PACE Ambulance Service at WMH

Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Service, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, announced recently that Robert Hand, EMT-Paramedic, has been appointed the new Director of PACE Ambulance Service.

Most recently Bob served as the Assistant Vice President of Operations at North East Mobile Health Services in Portland, focusing on handling ambulance calls as well as administrative duties.  Originally from the area, Bob graduated from Telstar Regional High School, and held EMS positions with Bethel and Tri Town prior to moving to Portland.  He received his EMT-Paramedic designation after graduating from Kennebec Valley Technical College and has been working in management for several years.

Bob is interested in having PACE become more closely involved with the areas it serves and connect with community members through events and trainings.  "We anticipate more innovative PACE programs for both the EMT providers as well as community members.  Bob has lived and worked within our communities and has a special feel for our way of life and our needs.  We're comfortable that he will blend his exceptional technical skills and ambulance management experience with his community approach to Pre-hospital care," says Cook.

Bob is currently living in Portland with his wife, Bethany Hill Hand, and their son Emmett.  The family is interested in moving back to the Oxford Hills region now that Bob has joined the Western Maine Health family.
