The Wellness Independence in a Supportive Environment (WISE) Center offers a creative and innovative day support program for adults 40 years or older with long-term mental health needs.

The WISE Center promotes a supportive community, encouraging engagement in healthy behavior, emotional awareness, improved life skills, and self-care.

The Center restores a sense of integrity and a feeling of well-being through the improvement of social functioning and interpersonal skills.

The Center also helps individuals maintain their ability to live as independently as possible, and provides increased socialization and management of health conditions by offering wellness activities and programming focused on overall well-being. The program offers a supportive environment and integrated, coordinated care.

These services are available to MaineCare-eligible adults 40 years or older with persistent mental health conditions affecting daily living, such as:

  • Major depression
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Schizophrenia
