Hospital Launches FY '09 Annual
(December 2008) Marking the start of its second
decade of service to Maine people challenged by mental
illness, Spring Harbor Hospital recently launched its
appeal to the community.
A 501 c 3
charitable organization, Spring Harbor delivers $3
million in treatment services each year to those who
need but cannot afford to pay for their care.
"Contributions to The Spring Harbor
Fund help the hospital deliver those services,"
says hospital Board Chair Brian Rines,
PhD, "as well as new programs that renew health and hope
and transform lives."
This year's appeal
features a testimonial from 25-year-old Aaron
Perry of Portland, whose life changed for the
better when he joined Spring Harbor's ACTION Program, a
ground-breaking effort that combines stable housing and
intensive mental health treatment under one roof.

learned how to use coping skills when I feel

even though current economic conditions are challenging,
she is hopeful that the hospital can meet its 2009
