Spring Harbor Hospital hosts open house for nurses

(July 30, 2007)-Southern Maine's largest psychiatric healthcare network will host an Open House for nurses on Wednesday, August 15, from 3 to 6 PM at its Westbrook campus off Outer Congress Street and Exit 46 of the Maine Turnpike

The day's events will include an overview of Spring Harbor Hospital's psychiatric health network and nursing careers, a tour of its new Westbrook facilities, and networking with the hospital's psychiatric nurses and human resources staff.  Light refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.

Hospital programs highlighted at the event will be Spring Harbor's treatment services for adults. Also discussed will be employee benefits, including advancement opportunities, on-the-job training, tuition reimbursement, and loan forgiveness for qualified nurse applicants.

"We have several key professional positions available right now," says Spring Harbor Hospital Chief Clinical & Nursing Officer Mary Jane Krebs, APRN, BC, "including full, part-time, and per-diem nursing positions. We are excited to share information about these positions and how Spring Harbor helps its nurses prepare for career advancement."

In particular, Krebs says she is proud of the newly introduced professional career paths for nurses at Spring Harbor. "These include clinical and managerial paths for nurses," she reports. "A soon-to-be introduced nurse preceptor program is another exciting professional opportunity we offer that allows more experienced nurses to mentor novice RN's."
