House & Free Continuing Education Program for

Southern Maine's largest
psychiatric healthcare network will host an Open House
& Information Session on Saturday, March 24, from 9
AM to Noon at its Westbrook campus off Outer Congress
Street and Exit 46 of the Maine Turnpike.
The day's events will include an educational session
from 10 to 11 AM on Suicide Risk Assessment. Continuing
education credits will be available to nurses and social
workers who participate. Facilitating the program will
be Spring Harbor Staff Educator Melissa Gattine, MA,
Open house participants can also avail themselves of
an overview of Spring Harbor's psychiatric health
network and clinical careers; a tour of the facilities;
and networking with Spring Harbor's nursing, social
work, and human resources staff. Light
refreshments will be served and door prizes will be

highlighted at the event will be child, adolescent, and
adult treatment services, as well as treatment for youth
who experience both mental illness and a developmental
disorder, such as autism.

right now," says Spring Harbor Hospital Chief Clinical
& Nursing Officer Mary Jane Krebs, APRN, BC,
"including full, part-time, and per-diem nursing
positions, per-diem social workers, and qualified nurse
practitioners and physician assistants. We are excited
to share information about these professions and how
Spring Harbor helps staff succeed."
In particular, Krebs says she is proud of the newly
introduced professional career paths for nurses and
social workers at Spring Harbor. "These include clinical
and managerial paths for nursing," she reports. "A
soon-to-be introduced nurse preceptor program is another
exciting professional opportunity we offer."
