Guidelines for Visitors
Visitors are a very important part of our patients’ recovery and we welcome their visits at our regularly scheduled times. Whether you plan to participate in family therapy or simply provide support to a friend or loved one hospitalized with us, you should know the following about visiting Spring Harbor:
Unless instructed otherwise by the patient’s treatment team, please limit your visit to regular visiting hours. Times differ for each care unit, so please check with a member of the treatment team for specifics or call us at (207) 761-2200 or (888) 524-0080.
When you arrive, check in at the reception desk in our lobby. There you will be asked to sign a statement requesting that you protect the confidentiality of both your loved one and any other patients you may see on our campus. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
You will be asked to secure your possessions in either your locked vehicle or in one of our secure wardrobes in the lobby. Many items that appear innocent to the average person may be very harmful to our patients and staff. Because we care about the safety of your loved one, we ask that you bring only necessary and patient-safe items onto our care units. Items you will be asked to secure during your visit include, but are not limited to: jackets, coats, sweatshirts, purses, pocketbooks, plastic containers, knives, tools, prescription drugs, and smoking materials, to name a few. If you question whether a certain item should or should not be brought onto the care unit, ask our reception desk staff or call in advance. We appreciate your assistance in keeping our patients safe.
For more information about our visiting policies, please call us at (207) 761-2200 or (888) 524-0080.
