Why a new Spring Harbor?
Spring Harbor Hospital--southern Maine’s only
freestanding hospital for those experiencing severe
mental illness or dual disorders--presently leases
its 68,000 square-foot facility at 175 Running Hill
Road in South Portland. The replacement hospital in
Westbrook--due for completion in the spring of 2004--provides
the following advantages:

crucial to providing an environment that promotes
healing and recovery. For that reason, the new Spring
Harbor Hospital will feature five additional beds,
twice as many private rooms, and a roomier footprint
