Rehabilitation Therapy at Home

At MaineHealth Care At Home, our physical therapists, speech therapists and occupational therapists help people who have had orthopedic surgeries, a major trauma, serious illness or difficulty managing tasks in their homes safely. Through skilled support and education, patients are able to gain strength and skills to promote independent living.

Physical therapy at home

Physical therapists work with our patients to improve movement after an accident, a joint replacement or other life challenge. They provide safety assessments; teach balance and help patients exercise to meet their goals

Occupational therapy at home

Using specially developed exercises and teaching, our occupational therapists help patients with daily living skills, including bathing, dressing and preparing meals as well as cognitive disorders.

Speech language pathology at home

Our therapists help patients who have difficulty speaking learn to make better or louder sounds, understand speech and learn or develop the use of other communication skills.

For patients who have difficulty swallowing due to injury or health conditions, our speech therapists use the latest treatment techniques and devices to stimulate damaged or weak muscles.

Post-operative care at home

To ease anxiety of patients facing hip or knee replacement surgery, our therapists provide post-operative services that include home safety evaluation and education, adaptive equipment assessment, pain management and therapeutic services.

Orthopedic Rehabilitation

Orthopedic rehabilitation helps patients recovering from knee, hip, ankle or shoulder joint replacement surgeries to gain strength and independence.

Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation helps patients with heart failure, post-cardiac surgeries, and pulmonary disease to conserve energy for enhanced safety and independence.

Stroke Rehabilitation

Stroke rehabilitation helps patients maximize communication and motor skills.

Home Safe

Home Safe help patients reduce the risk of falls through home modifications, balance training, and general health management.
