Parkinson's Information & Referral Center

About the Parkinson's Information & Referral Center

If you or someone you love has Parkinson's disease, you may be faced with new challenges and decisions. You don't have to face these challenges alone.

The Parkinson's Information & Referral Center offers a wide variety of programs and services to help improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson's disease and their families.

Maine's only Parkinson's Information & Referral Center is housed within the MaineHealth Learning Resource Center and is a collaborative effort of MaineHealth and the American Parkinson Disease Association Inc. The center serves as a centralized resource dedicated to improving the lives of people with Parkinson's disease.

Here's what you'll find at the Parkinson's Information & Referral Center:

  • Personal help from professional staff who can help you get the information to better manage your condition, and who can connect you with specialized listings of community resources and professionals treating Parkinson's disease.

  • A lending library with materials on multiple subjects - from dealing with a new diagnosis to understanding treatments.

  • Statewide Parkinson's support groups held monthly throughout Maine.

  • Free publications.

  • Educational classes and programs to help you learn about your condition and take control of your everyday life.
