Mark Harris serves as Senior Vice President of Planning and Marketing for MaineHealth – the state’s largest integrated healthcare delivery system – and Maine Medical Center – the state’s leading academic and research-based tertiary care center. A senior planning and marketing professional, Harris has proven successful at building and leading “best in class” planning and strategic marketing teams. He is responsible for the system’s strategic planning activities, regional clinical planning, market research, marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, and brand management functions for the system’s member organizations which include a tertiary care center, five acute care hospitals, an inpatient mental health hospital, home health services, outpatient surgery center, long-term care, assisted-living facilities and hospice services.
With more than 25 years in the healthcare industry, Harris's experience includes managerial and executive-level positions with large health systems, a small community hospital, a university-based research center, and a market research firm, in addition to his experience as an independent consultant.
Harris earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Shippensburg University, Shippensburg Pennsylvania, and his Master of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.
Harris' community involvement includes work with not-for-profit organizations such as the American Heart Association, Community Foundations and various youth organizations.
