Primary Responsibility of Division A strong program responsible for the care of all congenital heart disease and acquired heart disease in children with follow-up through adulthood.
Other Services
- Cardiac Catheterization - Including interventions such as coil and device occlusion of PDAs, balloon valvotomy, atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent foramen ovale (PFO) device closure.
- Electrophysiology - Holter and event monitoring, transesophageal and intracardiac electrophysiology testing, radiofrequency catheter ablations, pacemaker and implantable defibrillator (ICD) insertion.
- Non-invasive Imaging - Transthoracic, fetal and transesophageal echocardiography, and cardiac MRI.
Patient Population Birth to adulthood for people with congenital heart disease and acquired heart disease
Teaching Program
- Consists of 19 residents
- Provides pediatric training in congenital and acquired heart disease in children
- Educates cardiology fellows in spectrum of congenital heart defects they will encounter in care of adults
