The hotline staff is supported by a Medical Director, who is a Medical Doctor boarded in toxicology, and a Managing Director, who holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy and is also boarded in toxicology. The Directors are available for consultation with health care professionals and provide both in-house and off-site education.
Poisons can hurt you-or even kill you-if you eat them, breathe them, or get them in your eyes or on your skin. The Northern New England Poison Center can help you with questions about:

- Chemicals at work, in school, and in the environment
- Drugs (prescription, over-the-counter, herbal, illegal, or animal medicines)

TTY service for the deaf and hard-of-hearing and translators for those who do not speak English are also available through the 1-800-222-1222 number.
